Terribly disappointed about the evolution of Staad Pro

I have been using Staad since 1995 with various types of structures.

Although there were known limitations, the software was state-of-the-art at that period. For instance you could model at the same model shell elements and linear members.

Very few software could do that these years.

Ever since my company is using Staad, then Staad.Pro and now Staad Connect edition for major projects and structures. We own now 5 licenses.

My big disappointment is that the software is pretty much the same for many years. Connect edition is practically a new skin to the older version with nothing seriously new.

For more than 2 years now we are also using Dlubal Rstab and RFem and also Robot.

The difference is enormous.

We are seriously thinking abandoning the use of Staad and invest in the new software.

It is out of the question that Staad cannot produce automatically wind actions or transfer loads to masses in dynamic analysis or that it keeps erasing the output by just saving the file or changing one section (in Rstab all these are standard-for instance you change a section, even delete it and automatically it re-distributes the actions and erases the analysis results only for this member). Or you can analyze only for one load case and replace only the results and the combinations affected.

Please Bentley. Work on the Staad. Ever since you bought the program you kept it and you bury it.
