Hello,
I have a question regarding the output generated by STAAD Pro when checking a steel structure using the AISC 360-10 code.
In the attached file you can see the results corresponding to a particular member. The last rows of the text include a check which says
INTERACTION: RATIO: CRITERIA: LOAD CASE: LOCATION(ft):
IN PLANE FLEX: 0.536Eq. H1-1b104 0.000
OUT PLANE FLEX: 0.320 Eq. H1-2 104 0.000
But previously the same equation has been checked giving a different ratio for the same load case
INTERACTION: RATIO: CRITERIA: LOAD CASE: LOCATION(ft):
FLEXURE COMP: 0.275 Eq. H1-1b 4 0.000
FLEXURE TENS: 0.525Eq. H1-1b 104 0.000
My question is:
What is the reason for having different ratios when checking the same clause with the same equation for the same load case for the same member?
And then an extra question:
We work with STAAD in SI units, why the STAAD Output is in Kip inches instead of in SI units? Is there a way of modifying this in the program?
Thanks in advance.
Kind Regards,
Jaime Gallego.
